easyJet hand luggage allowance
Generous middle-ground — but the £48 gate fine still hurts.
easyJet sits in the middle of UK hand luggage rules — more generous than Ryanair, tighter than British Airways. Every fare includes one under-seat bag up to 45 × 36 × 20 cm and 15 kg. Miss those dimensions or bring an extra bag and it's a £48 fine at the gate.
The rules
- Every ticket includes 1 free under-seat bag measuring up to 45 × 36 × 20 cm and weighing up to 15 kg.
- The bag must fit under the seat in front — not in the overhead locker.
- For a large cabin bag (56 × 45 × 25 cm) you must upgrade — comes with Speedy Boarding.
- The under-seat bag applies to every passenger including children — infants on lap don't get an allowance.
- Oversize bag or an extra unbooked item = £48 fine at the gate.
